# Scan Depth

Describes how to limit the depth of the folder hierarchy that is analyzed during the scanning process

1. Open **Settings** and locate the **Configuration** tab.
2. Within the section **Scan Depth**, you can adjust the slider to limit the folder hierarchy depth of the analysis.
3. The default setting is **All**, which means that there is no upper bound for the folder hierarchy depth. The entire folder hierarchy will be traversed, thus causing every nested folder to be examined.
4. Finally, click **Save** in the **Settings** window to apply the changes you made.
